Pacific Rim School of Theology Ongoing Class in Hayward FMC
The church is hosting another theological class on New Testament Survey.  Three of our local church members are currently attending the class. Rev. Annette Brown of the Nazarene Church is teaching this class every Thursday night from 6:30pm-9:30pm.  This NT Survey class started on October 8th and will end on January 2010. The school is offering more classes beginning January 2010 for lay and ministerial candidates (with educational credits) as well as church members and worshippers who are seeking knowledge and wisdom from the Bible.
 
Donations for Typhoon Victims in Northern Philippines
Hayward FMC is encouraging all our members, friends, and fellow Free Methodists to remember and help those thousands of people in Northern Philippines that are dislocated, lost their homes and loved ones due to the destruction brought by two horrific typhoons, flood and mudslides. The local church has remitted already financial supports, one to the Northern Philippine Conference of FMC (Pastor Jim Nelson) and the second remittance through Gawad Kalinga Berkeley Relief Fund.  Anyone who's interested to make a donation may contact Pastor Ben Martinez at (510) 910-9467 or send an e-mail to pastorbm52@comcast.net.
 
Job Leads and Job Development
As Job Developer, Pastor Ben is providing free career development services to members and visitors in the church who are unemployed or under-employed and are looking for work.  New job leads and recruitment information are posted weekly on the church Job Annoucement Board.
 
Social Services Information and Applications
The church is helping those members and visitors who are applying for cash assistance, food stamps, and Medi-Cal.  Pastor Ben's Office  provides application forms, help applicants in completing forms and applications, and  assist applicants until application process is completed.  Food Stamp recertfications and Medi-Cal Redetermination are two other areas of concerns that Hayward FMC is always ready to help.  The church is determined to continue its social services duties to members and the community at large.
 
 

Events

OCT. 11TH - Children's Sunday
Hayward FMC celebrated Children's Sunday with a theme "Children are Gifts from God."  The event is an annual celebration to acknowledge litte childdren's contribution to the life and growth of the church. With ages from three through twelve years of age, these children represents the future of the church and the fulfillment of God's promises to all His faithful and kingdom-building children. The Sunday worship service on Children's Sunday was festive and empowering as they presented their musical renditions and led the worship service including Scripture reading, and the handling of the tithes and love offerings.   There were rented jumper, cotton candy machine, and various parlor games.  All went well on Children's Sunday. GOOD NEWS- Four of 5 new infants born in 2009 were ceremonially dedicated to the Lord.
 
OCT. 18TH - Pastor's Appreciation Day
Pastor's Appreciation Day has been observed every year to thank and honor current and retired pastors who served or actively serving the local church in Hayward. Ministers who were invited in the past to deliver sermons at this local church will also be accorded with the same honor.
 
NOV. 21ST -"Feed the Hungry Day"
Hayward FMC will hold a community outreach and evangelistic gathering with a goal of feeding 200 individuals on Saturday Nov. 21st during lunch time from 11am till 2 pm at the church parking lot. In the past, feeding was focused only to the homeless and street people, but this year the local BOA has decided to include all hungry people irregardless of their social standing in the community. All logistics and manpower will be borne by members and local benefactors.
 
DEC. 18TH & 19TH - "2009 Christmas Play and Cantata"
For nine years in a row, Hayward FMC has succeeded in presenting a yearly Christmas Musical Play utilizing local gifts and talents of our members and fellow worshipers. This year musical play is entitled "Two in Galilee."  A big Christmas Party Dinner will follow after the presentation. Everyone is invited to watch the  amazing Christmas story of the Savior's birth.
 
DEC. 25TH -Christmas Day Service and "Pot-Grace" Lunch
Members and friends of the church will be celebrating Christmas with Christmas Worship Service at 12 noon and to be followed by a "pot-grace" lunch and an "exchanging gift."  With God's blessing, each family will receive a Christmas gift of one 50-pound bag of rice.  "It is by giving that we receive God's blessings.
 
JAN 1ST-New Year's Day Service (at 12 noon)
The church family and friends will welcome the brand new year with a Worship Service and a "Gratitude Lunch" to be sponsored by volunteer families in the church.
 
 
 
 
 

Announcements

Women's Mission International (WMI)
The local chapter of WMI will participate in this years's WMI Luncheon on October 24th at the Redwood City Free Methodist Church. The luncheon is sposored by the Sierra Pacific Conference WMI. It is expected that half a dozen women will attend.
 
Men's Ministry International (MMI)
Hayward FMC-MMI has been faithfuly providing the financial support to a Church Plant in Kanagga-Leyte, Philippines.  A monthly support of about $215 is remitted to Kanaga-Leyte FMC through the Office of Bishop Tuan in Butuan City.  The support has helped the ministry of Pastor Eric Zabala. Currently, the church in Kanaga has two church extensions per report received from Eric.
 
Young Adults Organization (YAO)
The group is made up mostly young Christian couples who have faith in the Lord and willing to serve God and be part of God's kingdom-building mission. They are the church "Praise & Worship Team" and "Sunday School teachers for youth & kids.
 
College Youth Group, Youth Group & Junior Youth Group
Three youth groups but of different age brackets represent the future of the church. The musical play crew are mostly coming from this three groups. Praise the Lord!
