11TH - Children's Sunday
Hayward FMC celebrated Children's Sunday with a theme "Children are Gifts from
God." The event is an annual celebration to acknowledge litte childdren's contribution to the life and growth of
the church. With ages from three through twelve years of age, these children represents the future of the church and the fulfillment
of God's promises to all His faithful and kingdom-building children. The Sunday worship service on Children's Sunday
was festive and empowering as they presented their musical renditions and led the worship service including Scripture reading,
and the handling of the tithes and love offerings. There were rented jumper, cotton candy machine, and various
parlor games. All went well on Children's Sunday. GOOD NEWS- Four of 5 new infants born in 2009 were ceremonially
dedicated to the Lord.
OCT. 18TH - Pastor's Appreciation Day
Pastor's Appreciation Day has been observed every year to thank and honor
current and retired pastors who served or actively serving the local church in Hayward. Ministers who were invited in
the past to deliver sermons at this local church will also be accorded with the same honor.
NOV. 21ST -"Feed the Hungry Day"
Hayward FMC will hold a community outreach and evangelistic gathering with a goal
of feeding 200 individuals on Saturday Nov. 21st during lunch time from 11am till 2 pm at the church parking lot. In
the past, feeding was focused only to the homeless and street people, but this year the local BOA has decided to include all
hungry people irregardless of their social standing in the community. All logistics and manpower will be borne by members
and local benefactors.
DEC. 18TH & 19TH - "2009 Christmas Play and Cantata"
For nine years in a row, Hayward FMC has succeeded in presenting
a yearly Christmas Musical Play utilizing local gifts and talents of our members and fellow worshipers. This year musical
play is entitled "Two in Galilee." A big Christmas Party Dinner will follow after the presentation. Everyone is invited
to watch the amazing Christmas story of the Savior's birth.
DEC. 25TH -Christmas Day Service and "Pot-Grace" Lunch
Members and friends of the church will be celebrating Christmas with
Christmas Worship Service at 12 noon and to be followed by a "pot-grace" lunch and an "exchanging gift." With God's
blessing, each family will receive a Christmas gift of one 50-pound bag of rice. "It is by giving that we receive God's
blessings.
JAN 1ST-New Year's Day Service (at 12 noon)
The church family and friends will welcome the brand new year with
a Worship Service and a "Gratitude Lunch" to be sponsored by volunteer families in the church.
